Grade 70 chain is commonly used for trucking and is made of high-strength, low-alloy carbon steel. The heat-treating process further strengthens this chain. It is available in a wide variety of weights and has a load rating of approximately three thousand to fifteen thousand pounds. The grade 70 chain is the strongest type of carbon steel chain on the market. It is usually coated with yellow chromate and is used in load-binding, towing, and logging applications. Its strength-to-weight ratio is excellent, but it is not recommended for overhead lifting. In general, you should opt for an all-graded steel chain if you're using it for towing and overhead lifting.

Compared to grade 30, grade 40 chain has the lowest strength. The low-stretch limits of grade 43 make it suitable for household or general-purpose applications. Grade 30 chain is ideal for general-purpose uses and can be used for towing and general utility applications, but is not recommended for overhead lifting. It has a working load limit of approximately two-to-three thousand pounds. So, you may use it for light-duty jobs in agriculture and light construction.
